Taking me over 52-hours to complete, this artwork was drawn on-location at the Grandview Lake Side Resort in Ontario, Canada. This artwork was drawn as a tribute to the areas known as "cottage country" in Canada. Cottage country is truly a Canadian treasure and is enjoyed by many Canadians and Americans for its lake and cottage style living.
My family currently vacations in the heart of cottage country at the Grandview Lake Side Resort (Grandview) near Orillia, for the same 2-weeks every year. Canada has played a large part of Dawn's (wife) family history for over 80-years. Her grandparents took her father to Grandview every summer when he was a young boy. Then Dawn's father continued the tradition and took his family as his family grew. Now Dawn has introduced me to Grandview a few years ago and I can easily say it is one of my favorite places on earth.
I spent each day of my two-week vacation at Grandview finding different shade trees to draw underneath and drawing my surroundings. Drawing and getting lost inside of my research and artwork is like mediation to me." Its true. I love to draw. I could do it all day and night, and sometimes have. Look close, do you see what I see?
