This print titled, “Eighty-Six” was created in 2011 to pay tribute to Mr. Hines Ward. Taking over 70 hours of drawing time and countless hours of research, this artwork captures all things Hines and proudly represents his accomplishments both on and off the field. This special image was created as a "visual-biography" of Mr. Ward, and tells the tale of his life from his birth in Korea to Atlanta where he attended Forest Park High School. The next stop for this great athlete included the University of Georgia and then on to our wonderful City.
Hines has broken many records and received numerous awards along the way and I was honored to learn about each and portray them inside this piece. In addition to his masterful and fearless moves on the playing field, Hines’ philanthropic works are generous and greatly displayed within the image. His mother is very dear to him and she is delicately represented many times within the collage, as well her name in her native language. Numerous accolades about his life are proudly displayed within this piece which I offer as a tribute to an admired man and superior athlete. Look close, do you see what I see?
