Troy Polamalu
Troy Polamalu
This print titled, “Forty-Three” was completed on January 21, 2011-just two days before our beloved football team clinched the regional title. I felt compelled to complete this piece prior to XLV as my collages have seemingly brought our hometown great luck in the past. The year I created the Pittsburgh Football collage, our fair city won that magical trophy and the year I drew the Pittsburgh Hockey collage, we won the cup. Like this fearless Troy, I had to get into “the zone” in order to draw this one. With over 65 hours of drawing time over a 3 month period, I researched everything I could get my hands on. I watched film highlights and read biographies until I truly felt a connection. Then my vision met the paper and the images started to appear. As you look into this piece you will see hundreds of personal images that respectfully represent Mr. Polamalu's faith, family, dedication, heritage, and how deeply he is admired by the great city of Pittsburgh. Look close, do you see what I see?
When I drew this I never imagined her would see it. But one day he did! He loved it! He signed one for me and one for my Dad. (SEE PIC) Troy is a great guy! He was very appreciative of the creativeness of the artwork.
